KEY FEATURES of the DIGITAL YACHT AIT 1500-USB/NMEA0183 Transponder
The AIT 1500 incorporates a high-sensitivity GPS antenna into its compact housing, saving on a bulky antenna and making installation quicker. This product is ideal for use on small vessels. It uses an NMEA 0183 interface which allows simple connection to the vast majority of AIS compatible chartplotters and has a separate 4800 baud GPS data output for VHF DSC if required too. The AIT 1500 consumes less than 2W and can operate on 12/24V. It also has a mute capability for AIS transmissions and transmissions can be muted while still receiving AIS traffic.
There is also a USB interface for configuring the transponder but also for using the data on PC/MAC navigation software. This product is also compatible with Digital Yacht's Nav Link Mac and SmarterTrack Pc applications.
The GPS signals will pass through plastic, glass and fibreglass so it can be mounted below decks on many boats. A dedicated VHF antenna (not supplied) is required for AIS or an antenna splitter.
