Splicing needles, also known as 'long eye needles', can be used to make splices on hollow braid and on double-braided ropes.
Each splicing needle is fitted with a DYNEEMA loop that can be used to hook onto a fixed point when making a splice. This makes the needle ideal for sailors who prefer to attach the splicing needle and pull on the rope to make their splice.
