Why a boom brake? The gybe remains one of the most dangerous maneuvers in navigation that can cause material damage and bodily injury. Gyb'Easy is an essential aid limiting this type of risk.
Operating principle: The Wichard boom brake uses a specific high-stretch rope, the Gyb'Flex, which passes through one or more of the brake slots. The passage of the boom is therefore slowed down by the friction of the rope on the brake.
Several settings possible: Gyb'Easy offers 3 different settings to adapt to the size of the mainsail and the sailing conditions.
Ease of use: Light and compact, Gyb'Easy is installed on a boom bridge. To adapt to different deck plants, 2 mounting configurations are possible.
