Building on years of buoyancy research, the new VITO features a revolutionary new integrated structure. The AFS (Advanced Flotation System) places the buoyancy of the inflated vest where it is most effective, offering better rotation, increased freeboard and, above all, greater stability in the water. Its low profile gives users greater freedom of movement in and out of the water, essential in a rescue situation.

The AFS internal inflation chamber takes the shape of the vest's sewn outer structure. This allows the chamber to be sewn into a truly 3D shape that is held close to the body, forming a profile that maximizes performance in the water, while minimizing bulk. The inflated product is smaller, lighter and more flexible than traditional 2D welded bladders, while improving performance in all required areas.

The chamber design also makes better use of high-visibility colors. The contrast between high-visibility pink and high-visibility yellow has been shown to improve visibility at a distance in difficult conditions, compared with the use of a single high-visibility color.

Internal updates include an improved, structured hood, and new integrated attachment points for beacons, offering improved accessibility and ease of use for these key components.

The Hammar ®, hydrostatic release is protected at the back of the vest, reducing the risk of snagging and damage during wear and use.

The AFS's softer, more flexible internal construction further enhances the vest's fit and comfort for everyday use, while the improved single-point adjustment provides a fast, secure fit.

The Harness Release System (HRS), an essential safety feature for the harness, is now standard on all VITOs, as are the exclusive Lume-On and Pylon lights, which make locating in the dark considerably easier.
