The galvanic isolator prevents galvanic corrosion. It blocks low-voltage DC currents entering your boat via the shore power ground wire. These currents can cause corrosion of the boat's underwater metals, such as the hull, propeller, shaft, etc. The galvanic isolator consists of two diodes mounted in anti-parallel. The galvanic isolator is connected between the shore earth and the boat's central earth point. The advantage of the galvanic isolator is its low weight and compact size. Unlike an isolation transformer, which ensures complete insulation (phase, neutral and earth), the galvanic isolator does not block corrosion that may occur through the neutral conductor, in cases where the neutral conductor has been connected to earth via one of the electrical devices on board, such as a suppression filter or other equipment. Dim: 150 x 135 x 70 mm, weight: 0.7 kg, IP34, connection 2 x M6.
