It transmits information about your boat to other AIS receivers close to you while receiving data from surrounding AIS targets. The Garmin AIS 800 has a built-in VHF antenna splitter that allows the VHF and AIS receiver to share a single antenna. It includes a GPS (with connector to add an optional external antenna) and integrates seamlessly with your on-board Garmin system. NMEA 2000/0183 connectivity allows you to easily integrate your transceiver with compatible plotters and multifunction displays. Finally, its compact size saves space at the installation.
